The stars and stripes are waving proudly as we gear up to celebrate two centuries of Whiting’s rich history and vibrant community!
Mark your calendars for **July 11–13** and join us at 145–169 US Route One for a weekend full of local pride, historic displays, school tours, and more.
Don’t miss the Quilting Room—open all weekend with raffle tickets, town history books, and cookbooks!
**Whiting’s 200th Birthday Celebration – Friday, July 11**
*All events begin at 10:00 AM*
– **Displays open at 10:00 AM**
Explore tools, a vintage printing press (demonstrations Friday & Sunday), and household items from earlier times in the **Quilting Room** at the Community Building.
– **Union Meeting House (UMH)**
Open from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, hosted by Historical Society members
– View **Veterans’ Plaques** and a **Commemorative Quilt**
– **Fire Truck**
On-site at the school early afternoon (weather permitting)
– Members of the Fire Department will be present to answer questions
– **School Tours**
Guided by students
– **Dining Area (Community Building)**
Closed on Friday to prepare for Saturday’s dinner setup
**All Weekend Long in the Quilting Room**
– Purchase the *1975 Whiting Cookbook*
– Pick up the *Town History Book* and *Notecards*
– Buy your **raffle ticket** for the **Quilt Giveaway**

A variety of exhibits will highlight area history.
– **Reenactors Visit at 11:00 AM**
They’ll make an appearance and visit the General Crane gravesite.
– **Lunch**
On your own—feel free to explore or relax before the afternoon program.
– **Union Meeting House Program at 1:00 PM**
