Turkey-A-Thon time!!!!!!! The Event Of The Year !

October 7, 2022 @ 7:00 am - 5:00 pm

Hello Everyone!

You know when this picture shows up in your inbox, that it’s Turkey-A-Thon time!!!!!!!
Les has been vacationing in the Swiss Alps, trying to get himself together so as not a have another Turkey Fiasco!!
That took a lot out of both him and Mr Carlson, who still mutters in his sleep, “As God is my witness, I thought Turkey’s could fly.”
Well, not to worry. This is a new year, a new dawn, and the turkeys around here can fly. I have seen them firsthand.
But enough foolishness, how about them Red Sox!!!

Yea, I guess you’re right. That’s not funny.
And neither is a family not having a healthy meal on their holiday table. That’s where you all come in.
On October 7th, we will be hosting our 18th annual Turkey A Thon! And this year our goal is 3000 turkeys!! That’s $36,000.00.
Last year we were able to distribute over $39,000 to local food pantries. That was the biggest Turkey A Thon ever! Lets make this year’s one for the record books.

Healthy Acadia has been preparing for this special day all year, lining up volunteers, sending out challenges, even making tutus. Before you ask, no, they don’t have one in my size. They are ready for the big day and they will have people stationed at Dunkin in Machias, Flat Iron Corner in Lubec, Bayside Market in Milbridge, and Four Corner Shop and Save in Columbia.

There will also be volunteers at the Woodland Foodmart in Baileyville and First National Bank in Eastport.

As for me, I will be at VL Tammaro Oil in Calais broadcasting live from 7 am until 5 pm, with volunteers from the Calais Rotary Club, Machias Savings Bank, The VL Tammaro Girls, as well as local politicians and special guests.

This day would not be possible without our two sponsors, Dunkin in Calais and Machias and the VL Tammaro Oil Company in Woodland and Calais and our partner, Healthy Acadia!

So please make plans today to stop in to one of our 7 locations on October 7th and purchase a turkey for $12, or maybe 2 for $24, or 5 for $60, …….you see how this works.

Remember, all money is spent at local grocery stores and then distributed to local food pantries to be given to local families.

Thank you all in advance and I look forward to seeing many of you on October 7th!!!
Jeff
