Community Parade Update – Call for Confirmed Entries
After hearing from numerous businesses and organizations who’ve expressed their willingness to step up and contribute a float, the Municipal District of St Stephen is now prepared to investigate whether municipal resources can still be dedicated to moving forward with this year’s parade.
This renewed interest and community spirit gives us hope that our 52-year tradition doesn’t have to stop now.
As it stands, we currently have 12 entries confirmed—3 floats and 9 groups made up of cars, ATVs, trucks, and walkers. Notably, half of these entries are from our friends across the border who are excited to join us in celebration.
However, in order to make the parade a viable and worthwhile event for our citizens, we need 12 to 15 more entries. Understanding the challenges for businesses and organizations to put together and participate in a summer parade, maybe even consider teaming up with another business or organization!
If you are one of those businesses, we need to hear from you!!
Please submit your completed parade application, found at https://town.ststephen.nb.ca/calendar/international-homecoming-festival-saturday-events by Wednesday August 6th at noon to events@chocolatetown.ca
A reminder to those crossing that you must complete the parade participants list for everyone that will be with your entry.
If we receive enough confirmed entries, we believe we can still bring this cherished community event to life. Let’s work together to keep the tradition going!
