Hey Turkey lovers:
Preparations are being made.
Volunteers are lining up.
Our sponsors are getting excited.
And the food pantries are waiting in anticipation of another great year.
That’s right. The 21st annual Turkey A Thon is right around the corner, with only 17 more days until we come together as a community to help our friends, neighbors and relatives.
We will be broadcasting live from VL Tammaro in Calais from 7 am until 5 pm, reading the names of all the thoughtful people who helped by making a donation. We will be talking to local businesses, organizations, school children, volunteers and maybe even a few surprise guests.
Best of all, all money donated will be spent on gift cards from local grocery stores, then given to our local food pantries to be distributed to local people who need a helping hand putting a healthy meal on their holiday table.
This wouldn’t be possible without our partnership with Healthy Acadia or our sponsors, Dunkin in Calais and Machias and VL Tammaro in Woodland and in Calais.
If you can’t make it to Calais, that’s not a problem. You can visit one of our other locations which are:

Now for some more good news. Our first donation has been announced. It is from our longtime supporter, Cooke Aquaculture, and they will be in Calais on October 10th, to present us with a very generous donation!
