Two students from St. Croix Regional Technical Center (SCRTC) have qualified for the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Competition. Destiny Holmes, a junior, and Sa Li, a senior, both from Calais High School.
29 students from SCRTC competed against students from across Maine at the SkillsUSA State Leadership and Skills competition in March.
Destiny Holmes won a gold medal for her Welding Sculpture.
Sa Li won a gold medal for her State Pin Design.
Both competitions involved creating their projects and a supporting portfolio, then presenting their work and being interviewed at the state conference.
The national conference is in Atlanta, Georgia during the first week of June.
Welding instructor Ryan Johnson and Business instructor Robyn Leighton will be chaperoning this trip.
