Maine State Police investigating fatal crash in Princeton
On Saturday, March 12, 2022, at approximately 5:40 a.m., Maine State Police responded to a single-vehicle crash on Main Street in Princeton. The vehicle, a 2019 Ford F-150 was being driven by 59-year-old Peter Leighton of Princeton. The initial investigation shows Leighton was traveling in the southbound lane when he crossed the centerline and went off the road striking a tree. At this time it is believed Leighton experienced a medical event.
Assisting Maine State Police at the scene were the Indian Township Police Department, Indian Township Fire/Rescue, Princeton Fire Department, Baileyville Fire Department, and Bohannon’s Towing.
