From The Charlotte Volunteer Fire & Rescue Facebook Page
Late Tues afternoon Charlotte Volunteer Fire & Rescue was called to a woods fire on the Charlotte Rd near the Calais Rod n Gun Club. Upon arrival it was quickly determined structures were threatened.
Thanks to the quick response and action of our firefighters and those from our mutual aid departments the fire was knocked down before it reached the structures.
Thank you to Maine Forest Rangers, Calais Fire & EMS, Meddybemps Vol Fire Dept., Pembroke Fire Dept, Downeast EMS and Washington RCC for all your help.
It was a very hot and humid afternoon but the firefighters worked fast and efficiently to get the fire knocked down.
Firefighters were on scene for approximately 3 hours.
I would also like to thank the citizens who called in the fire and other Charlotte residents who came to offer their help.
We will be keeping an eye on the area for the next couple of days.
Stay safe everyone,
Chief Day
