On July 31, 2023, Washington County Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives, assisted by Maine Drug Enforcement Agency special agents and Machias Police executed a search warrant at the Northfield residence of Aaron Calor and Simone Simonson following an investigation that established probable cause to suspect a drug trafficking operation at the residence. During the search, investigators located and seized firearms, 2.7 gm of suspected para-fluorobutyryl fentanyl, 16.4 gm of suspected cocaine base, 15.8 gm of suspected fentanyl, and over $11,000 in suspected drug proceeds. Calor and Simonson were arrested and charged with Aggravated Trafficking of Scheduled Drugs (class A). Both remain in the Washington County Jail with each bail set at $25,000.00 cash. Jamie Butterfield, who was located at the residence and found in possession of fentanyl, was also arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of Scheduled Drugs (class C). Butterfield was released form the Washington County Jail on $250.00 cash Bail. Photo’s are available through the Washington County Jail.
