A WARRANT CHECK IN STEUBEN TURNS INTO A MAJOR DRUG BUST… AND A SHOOTING INCIDENT THAT ENDS WITH FOUR PEOPLE IN CUSTODY.

Washington County, Maine – On February 20, 2026, Deputies with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office were conducting proactive enforcement efforts focused on locating and apprehending individuals with outstanding arrest warrants. As a part of these efforts, deputies were led to 71 Augusta Drive in Steuben to conduct a warrant check.

While at the Steuben location, deputies observed suspected drug paraphernalia, which led to a probation search of Corey Perry, and his residence, as he is currently on probation for other criminal convictions. Probable cause was developed for the arrest of Corey Perry (42) and Laura Anderson (36) for unlawful possession of scheduled drugs. Corey Perry and Laura Anderson were both transported to the Washington County Jail without incident.

As a part of the ongoing investigation, deputies applied for and were granted a search warrant for the residence at 71 Augusta Drive. While executing the search warrant, deputies came under gunfire from four suspects who had previously fled from the 71 Augusta Drive residence.

Deputies responded to the threat and subsequently all four individuals were located and safely taken into custody. The suspects were found in possession of 272.7 grams of Cocaine, 4.3 grams of Fentanyl, and $1,373 cash. The suspects were identified and charged as follows;

  1. Diaz Gomez, Erlyn, Yojunsel (22) of Boston Massachusetts, Aggravated Trafficking in a Schedule W drug, Class A and Reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon Class B

  1. Gonzales Adame, Freudi, Angelo (24) of Boston Massachusetts, Aggravated Trafficking in a Schedule W drug, Class A and Reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon Class B

  1. Baex, Yermi Alberto (18) of Boston Massachusetts, Aggravated Trafficking in a Schedule W drug, Class A and Reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon Class B

  1. Willey, Nena (37) of Steuben, Aggravated Trafficking in a Schedule W drug, Class A and Reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon Class B. Willey had outstanding warrants for Violation of bail, Unlawful Furnishing and Theft.

All four individuals were transported to the Washington County Jail. The incident is still under investigation and additional charges may be pending. All four suspects were arraigned on Monday February 23rd. Perry is being held on $10,000 cash bail with an additional probation hold. Willey is also being held on $10,000 cash bail with no bail allowed pending probation revocation. Gomez is being held on $50,000 cash bail along with Gonzalas and Baez also held on $50,000 cash bail. Both Gomez and Gonzalas have extensive criminal history out of Massachusetts as well as previous deportation orders. Anderson posted bail on February 21st.

All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
