The 21st annual Turkey A Thon is a wrap.
And what a great one it was.
At the end of our broadcast, we had collected donations in the amount of $39,022.
Our goal was $40,000, but in today’s economic climate, we were very happy with the total.
But people still wanted to donate and help their neighbors, friends, and relatives. So, the money continued to arrive. I am happy to say that as of this afternoon, our total has grown to $40,538.00!!! That surpassed last year’s total, which had been our biggest year ever, until now. Wow!!!!!
Thanks to our partners at Healthy Acadia and our2 sponsors, Dunkin in Calais and Machias and VL Tammaro in Woodland and in Calais, every dollar donated is going to families right here in Washington County. Our food pantries will be receiving their money in the next few days so they can help their clients during the holiday season.
Thank you so much to each and every one of you who volunteered at one of our7 locations, and to our schools, civic organizations, businesses and to all the individuals who made generous donations.
Thanks to all of you, many families will have a healthy meal on their holiday table that may not have been possible before. Think about that as you enjoy your holiday with family and friends.
And while we are at it, let’s save the date for the 22nd annual Turkey A Thon. October 9th, 2026!
Thank you all again!
