Lewiston Police reports of gunshots in the area of the Maine Immigrant and Refugee Services

Shooting Incident – 256 Bartlett St.
On Monday, July 14th, just before 3:00 PM, Lewiston Police responded to reports of gunshots in the area of the Maine Immigrant and Refugee Services (MEIRS) building at 256 Bartlett Street.
Upon arrival, officers spoke with multiple witnesses who reported that a young Black male had approached the center and fired multiple rounds from a handgun toward the building and nearby parked vehicles.
Officers recovered numerous shell casings at the scene and obtained video footage from surrounding businesses. The suspect was last seen fleeing toward the wooded area behind Paradise Park.
