ROUTE 1 CLOSURE PLANNED FOR MONDAY, JULY 28
The Towns of Machias and Marshfield have been notified by the Maine Department of Transportation that repairs to the Machias Dike tidal gates are scheduled for Monday, July 28.
Route 1 will be closed for the day while repairs are underway. Detours through Marshfield or Machiasport will be posted.
The Downeast Sunrise Trail will remain open.
Work is expected to take one day, but could be extended if unforeseen issues arise.
