For the past month, agents from the MDEA Downeast Regional Task force and deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office (WCSO) conducted an investigation into the distribution of illegal drugs, specifically fentanyl and cocaine base throughout Western Washington County. The investigation revealed individuals from outside the state of Maine were traveling to Western Washington County where they would coordinate with local drug traffickers to distribute the illegal drugs. During the investigation undercover purchases of drugs were conducted.
During the afternoon and evening of Wednesday, July 26, 2023, MDEA agents, (WCSO) deputies and agents from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) located Mandy Kane in Cherryfield and arrested her on an outstanding MDEA arrest warrant for Trafficking in Cocaine Base.
While in Cherryfield, Samantha Jo Moore was located operating a vehicle. The vehicle was stopped, and Moore was arrested on an outstanding WCSO arrest warrant charging Aggravated Trafficking in Fentanyl.
The passenger in Moore’s vehicle, Willie Wynn was subsequently arrested and charged with Theft. The Theft charge was related to a firearm seized from Wynn that he was concealing in his pocket.
After the traffic stop, agents drafted and secured a search warrant for Wynn’s rented room at the Red Barn Motel in Milbridge. As a result of the search warrant, approximately 66 grams of cocaine base and 41 grams of fentanyl was seized. Wynn was also charged with Aggravated Trafficking in Cocaine and Fentanyl related to the seized drugs.
Kane, Moore and Wynn were transported to the Washington County Jail where booking photos are available.
