That’s right. OMG. It is only 52 more days until the 18TH Annual Turkey A Thon!!!!
It’s almost time to break out your favorite Turkey A Thon outfit. I have heard there will be a few tutus this year.
No, not to worry. I won’t be wearing one. I have too many young kids and older people like myself coming to see us in Calais and we don’t want to scare, shock, or embarrass them or me.
Our goal this year is 3000 turkeys!!! We have met that the past few years and we are hoping to beat it again this year.
Our all time record was just shy of $40,000 !! It would be nice to top that this year!
There will be seven locations around Washington County again this year with some familiar faces at each and every one of them.
They will be wearing smiles and are more than happy to accept your donation to the food pantries of Washington County.
It will be a fun day for all.
We’ll have special guests, a few songs, some treats at most of our locations and of course, everyone will be doing the Turkey Trot!
I have been practicing and I must admit, I am not very good at it. I look like Lord of the Dance after a shot of ex lax.
So, we ask you all once again to challenge your friends, enemies, co-workers, ex-co-workers who got fired because of you, ex in-laws who you hate and or anyone else you can think of, to join you in donating this year to help families throughout the area to have a nice, healthy meal on their holiday table.
In the words of JFK, well, kind of.
