Motorcyclist Spills Bike, Gets Back On - Jul. 19, 2014
EASTPORT, Maine --- (WQDY) A motorcyclist taking part in an organized ride to raise money for Alzheimer's research spilled her bike as she rounded Washington Street (Route 190) just past the corner with County Road. The operator and bike ended up on the lawn of a house.
The motorcyclist was one of many participants in the 2nd Annual Ride and Roll to Remember held by the St. Croix Valley Walk to End Alzheimer's. The group left Calais Saturday morning, went to Machias, then on to the Eastport waterfront.
Almost as soon as the accident happened, other riders were at her side. Help came quickly from Downeast EMS -- their base being only yards away. Eastport police, Pleasant Point police and members of the Eastport fire department also responded to the scene to assist with traffic at the busy corner.
After being tended to, the motorcyclist got back on her bike to finish the ride. She was later transported to Calais Regional by Downeast EMS.
