Four Arrests In Lubec Burglary - Jun. 11, 2014

MACHIAS, Maine -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office said four men have been arrested on burglary charges, and one was also charged with domestic assault.

According to Sheriff Donnie Smith, Sgt. Brandon Parker responded to a report of an assault and a possible burglary in Lubec on Monday.

Parker later stopped a suspect vehicle and, after further investigation, charged the four men.

Smith said Jason Hawkins, 31, of East Machias was charged with domestic assault and two counts of burglary. Joshua Lanning, 38, of Bangor also was charged with two counts of burglary.

Robert Grant of East Machias and Patrick Hatch of Trescott, both 19, were each charged with burglary.

Parker recovered numerous items from the burglary but some of it is still unaccounted for -- including a pistol.  Drugs and alcohol were allegedly involved. Hawkins and Lanning remained at the Washington County Jail as of Wednesday morning.  The investigation continues.
