Troop J Weekly Report - Jun. 09, 2014
This week Troop J responded to 184 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints:
Trooper Miles Carpenter received a complaint of harassment in Hancock. Warnings were given.
Trooper Chris Smith and K9 Winger were called out to conduct a track in Penobscot as an assist to Hancock Sheriff's Office.
Trooper Cliff Peterson charged two Ellsworth residents, a 32-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man with theft of medication as a result of an ongoing investigation in Lamoine.
Trooper Cliff Peterson charged a 52-year-old Lamoine man with contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
Trooper Jeff Taylor received a bad check complaint in Steuben. The couple advised they had received a check which had been returned due to insufficient funds. The party had been contacted and issued a five day notice to pay.
Troopre Dan Ryan received a trespassing complaint in Penobscot. Investigation continues.
Trooper Chris Smith summoned a 48-year-old Enfield woman for criminal speed as the result of a traffic stop on I-95.
Trooper Chris Smith and K9 Winger were requested to conduct a track in Brewer for a strong arm robbery suspect on North Main Street as an assist to Brewer Police Department.
Trooper Andy Foss arrested a 31-year-old Lubec woman on a warrant for failure to appear on theft charges. The arrest was in Lubec.
Trooper Andy Foss arrested a 32-year-old East Machias man on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of theft by receiving property. The arrest was in Jonesboro.
Trooper Chad Lindsey arrested a 34-year-old Pembroke woman on a warrant for failure to appear on charges of aggravated assault, OUI, driving to endanger. The arrest was in East Machias. Trooper Lindsey further summoned the woman for burglary, theft, and forgery stemming from an investigation from 5-8-14.
Trooper Chris Smith and K9 Winger responded to a report of a resident hearing that they thought was someone inside of their residence in Otis. A search was conducted of the residence with Winger and no one else was located inside.
Trooper Chris Smith and K9 Winger assisted Ellsworth Police Department with a drug search at Ellsworth High School.
Trooper Kim Sawyer arrested a 19-year-old Machiasport man in Machias on 2 outstanding warrants.
Trooper Staci Carpenter investigated a report of a domestic incident in Perry. There was no assault. There was a verbal disagreement where parties were separated for the evening.
Trooper Staci Carpenter investigated a report of a theft of medication from a residence in Lubec. Investigation continues.
Trooper Staci Carpenter investigated a report of a domestic incident in East Machias. Trooper Carpenter arrived on scene. Both parties were not at the residence. After a short time the man returned home and said he and his wife had a verbal altercation only. His wife had left the residence to stay at a different location else for the evening. Marine Patrol Officer Jason Leavitt assisted.
Trooper Greg Roy arrested an 18-year-old Sullivan man for operating without a license beyond restrictions as the result of a traffic stop in Sullivan. He was also summoned for possession of a usable amount of marijuana.
Trooper Chad Lindsey assisted Baileyville Police with an OUI crash investigation by processing the scene for evidence.
Trooper Greg Roy conducted an active shooter training exercise at the Ellsworth Middle School. Several troopers as well as officers from various agencies in the Troop J area attended the training.
Trooper Greg Roy arrested a 21-year-old subject from Sedgwick on an outstanding arrest warrant as the result of a traffic stop in Sedgwick.
Trooper Greg Roy arrested a 25-year-old Blue Hill woman on two outstanding arrest warrants as the result of a traffic stop in Blue Hill.
