Investigators Probe Baby Death, Mobile Home Fire In Danforth - Mar. 21, 2014

DANFORTH, Maine -- State Fire Marshal Investigators continue to look into the cause of an early morning fire that destroyed a mobile home on Weatherbee Street in Danforth Friday morning.

Unrelated to the fire, State Police continue to investigate the death of a 5-month-old baby boy, whose family lived at the home.

Dept. of Public Safety spokesman Steve McCausland said an autopsy on the body of Mach-Danyel Richardson will take place Saturday at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Augusta. In addition, the parents also have a four-year-old son who also lived at the home.

The boy died at a Danforth medical facility where he was brought by his parents earlier Friday.  The fire broke out after the family had left the mobile home. State Police investigate all children’s deaths under the age of three.

Fire investigators are likely to be some time determining the cause of the fire because of the extensive damage.
