Troop J Weekly Report - Dec. 30, 2013
This week Troop J responded to 136 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints:
Trooper Staci Carpenter investigated a traffic complaint involving a 34-year-old Columbia man who she had observed operating a vehicle in the Harrington area. The passenger in the vehicle was from Harrington. The man's driver's license is under suspension and he is on bail with conditions that prohibit him from having contact with the passenger. The man parked the vehicle at Tri Town Marine in Harrington and fled on foot. On 12-25-13, Trooper Jeff Taylor and Sergeant Alden Bustard located the man at his residence in Columbia. The passenger from the vehicle was also present at the residence. The man was arrested on two counts of violation of conditions of release. He was also summonsed for operating after suspension.
Trooper Daniel Ryan responded to Penobscot for a report that a 44-year-old woman was intoxicated and being disorderly. Hancock Sheriff's Office assisted and located her prior to Trooper Ryan. Hancock Sheriff's Office arrested the subject for violation of conditional release.
Trooper Andrew Foss responded to a theft complaint in Lubec where fuel oil was reported stolen from an oil tank at a seasonal residence. Investigation continues.
Trooper Andrew Foss summonsed an 18-year-old man from an assault stemming from a complaint in Lubec in November.
Trooper Chad Lindsey responded to a protection order complaint in Charlotte where a woman reported that a 34-year-old man was contacting her in violation of a protection order. It was found that the man lived in Saco and was arrested by a Trooper in that area.
Trooper Chris Smith conducted a well-being check on a resident in Columbia who was without power. The woman was found to be safe at another neighbor's residence.
Trooper Jeffrey Taylor summonsed a 38-year-old Harrington man for operating after suspension as result of a traffic stop in Harrington.
Trooper Chris Smith conducted a well-being check in Franklin. Trooper Smith located the woman at a neighbors residence.
Trooper Chris Smith investigated a reported theft. The incident was determined to be a civil property dispute issue between the two brothers.
Trooper Chris Smith conducted a well-being check in Otis. The man was found home at the residence and ok. He had no power or phone and was unable to receive calls from relatives who were checking on him.
Trooper Greg Roy arrested a 23-year-old Orland man at his residence for a warrant for failure to appear.
Trooper Chris Smith responded to a noise complaint in Mariaville. A resident reported being awakened to the sound of gunshots coming from the neighbor's across the road. Trooper Smith arrived and identified the homeowner. They were hosting a gathering of friends who were all drinking. The homeowner said that fireworks were shot off earlier. Trooper Smith advised them of the complaint from his neighbors and reminded them of the 10:00 pm fireworks curfew and issued him a verbal disorderly conduct warning. No additional complaints were received.
Trooper Jeffrey Taylor and Officer James Malloy of Milbridge Police Department arrested a 31-year-old Milbridge man on an outstanding warrant for unpaid fines.
Trooper Jeffrey Taylor arrested a 31-year-old woman on an outstanding warrant for failure to appear to court at her residence in Jonesboro.
Trooper Greg Roy arrested a 50-year-old Sullivan man on an outstanding arrest warrant for unpaid fines at his residence.
Trooper Daniel Ryan and Trooper Chris Smith along with Hancock Sheriff's Office responded to Brooksville for a report of a domestic in progress involving a 59-year-old man. Trooper Ryan arrested the man for assault, criminal threatening and violation of conditional release.
Trooper Andrew Foss arrested a 39-year-old man in Pembroke for operating under the influence of alcohol after he crashed his vehicle off of Route 1. He was also summonsed for possession of a usable amount of marijuana.
Trooper Greg Roy arrested a 33-year-old Sullivan man on an outstanding arrest warrant out of Ellsworth District Court for unpaid fines.
Trooper Daniel Ryan responded to a harassment complaint in Sedgwick. A written harassment notice was given by Trooper Ryan.
