Troop J Weekly Report - Dec. 16, 2013
This week Troop J responded to 159 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints:
Trooper Greg Roy received a theft complaint in Sorrento. The complainant reported that he returned home from vacation and found that cash and checks had been taken from his residence. The investigation continues.
Trooper Jeffrey Taylor arrested a 23-year-old Columbia Falls woman as result of a bail check on her at her residence. Alcohol as well as a marijuana pipe and marijuana were found in her possession. She was arrested for violating conditions of release and also summonsed for sale and use of drug paraphernalia.
Trooper Greg Roy summonsed a 36-year-old Blue Hill man for operating after suspension and violation of conditions of release as the result of a traffic stop in Surry.
Trooper Greg Roy summonsed a 25-year-old Blue Hill man for operating without a driver's license as the result of a traffic stop in Blue Hill.
Trooper Greg Roy investigated a burglary complaint in Deer Isle. A six unit motel, which is closed during the winter months, was broken into and the copper piping was taken. Investigation continues.
Trooper Daniel Ryan responded to a road rage incident in Blue Hill. The complainant did not wish to pursue criminal charges and warnings were given.
Trooper Chris Smith arrested a 42-year-old Franklin man on 2 outstanding warrants for failure to pay fines. He was located at his residence in Franklin.
Trooper Chris Smith and K9 Winger assisted Trooper Kimberly Sawyer in Trescott.
Trooper Barnard responded to a burglary at a camp on Route 6 in Topsfield. A 32-year-old West Enfield man was arrested for burglary, theft and a violation of conditional release.
Trooper Jason Fowler received a complaint in Machiasport requesting that his wife be removed from the residence. There had been no crime committed and the complainant was advised that his wife could not be forced to leave. No further action was taken.
Trooper Jason Fowler responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in East Machias. The dispute was verbal in nature. Washington County Sheriff's Office assisted at the scene.
Trooper Jeff Taylor and Sergeant Alden Bustard responded to a domestic dispute in Sullivan. The couple had been arguing and began throwing things at each other. One person agreed to leave the residence for the evening. No further action was taken.
Trooper Jeff Taylor responded to a domestic dispute in Otis. The dispute was verbal in nature. The parties were separated for the night.
Trooper Greg Roy and Trooper Jeff Taylor conducted a bail check on a 41-year-old Trenton subject who found to be in violation of his bail and was summonsed for violation of conditions of release.
Trooper Kim Sawyer received a theft complaint in Baileyville stating that he thought his brother was stealing from him. Trooper Kim Sawyer responded to the residence and determined that a theft did not occur. The complainant was confused and under the influence of alcohol.
Trooper Jason Fowler arrested a 48-year-old Campobello Island, New Brunswick man for domestic assault. U.S. Border Patrol assisted.
Trooper Chris Smith summonsed a 29-year-old Hancock man for civil possession of a usable amount of marijuana as the result of a traffic stop in Hancock.
Trooper Chris Smith and K9 Winger assisted Hancock Sheriff's Office Deputy Robert Morang with a drug sniff during a multi-agency OUI roadblock in Ellsworth. K9 Winger conducted a sniff of a vehicle and then a sniff of a person suspected of concealing drugs. As a result K9 Winger positively indicated on the presence of drugs on the driver. A 42-year-old man voluntarily removed a small baggie of marijuana from his shirt pockets and he was summonsed by Deputy Morang.
Trooper Keith York summonsed a 27-year-old Cherryfield woman for OAS in Columbia.
Sergeant Jeffrey Ingemi responded to assist Washington Sheriff's Office with a family fight in Steuben. Before arrival it was found that a 41-year-old man had left the scene in a truck and was intoxicated. Sergeant Ingemi found where the man had crashed on the icy roads in Gouldsboro. Sergeant Ingemi arrested him on a probation hold and summonsed him for operating after suspension and operating under the influence of alcohol. Gouldboro Police Department assisted.
Trooper Jason Fowler investigated a theft complaint in Machiasport. It was reported that a friend, Jason Trickett, 43, a transient, had arrived at his residence looking for a place to stay. The complainant woke Sunday morning and discovered that Trickett was gone along with the complainant's Jeep, several hundred dollars in cash and a Springfield .45 caliber firearm. Update: Trickett was taken into custody by Bangor Police Department on Broadway in Bangor early Monday morning. Police were notified by another motorist who saw Trickett driving the stolen Jeep.
