Troop J received 179 calls for service. Here are the noteworthy complainants:
Trooper Chris Smith assisted Hancock Sheriff's Office with a burglary investigation in Dedham.
Trooper Jeffrey Taylor summonsed a 19-year-old Cherryfield man for operating after suspension and attaching false plates as result of a traffic stop in Cherryfield.
Trooper Greg Roy responded to Golden Acres in Hancock for a report of an assault. The complainant reported he was assaulted by a 19-year-old Hancock man who was summonsed for Assault.
Trooper Daniel Ryan responded to a family fight complaint in Blue Hill. Parties were separated upon arrival. Investigation continues.
Trooper Greg Roy was responding to a Tactical Team activation in York County when an aggressive driver approached him on I-95 south in Hermon. The driver, later identified as an 18-year-old from Levant, was traveling over 100 mph and tailgated Trooper Roy while he was responding with his blue lights and siren activated. The teen eventually passed Trooper Roy and approached a second vehicle operated by Sergeant Robert Burke, also responding to the call. The teen then passed Sergeant Burke on the right and as he did he threw a glass bottle that struck Sergeant Burke's vehicle. Trooper Roy was eventually able to get the teen to pull over and he was subsequently arrested for criminal speed, driving to endanger and obstructing government administration. Trooper Christopher Cookson assisted.
Trooper Staci Carpenter took a report of harassment in East Machias. The complainant said that his ex-brother-in-law has been harassing him by driving by his home, driving too close and displaying the middle finger toward him. Trooper Carpenter spoke with ex-brother-in-law who said the behavior was two-sided. Both parties were warned for harassment.
Trooper Cliff Peterson investigated a theft complaint at Tradewinds in Blue Hill. A subject was recorded on surveillance camera taking a bottle of liquor from the store. The subject was identified as being a 28-year-old from the Blue Hill area. The bottle of liquor was recovered and the man was summonsed for theft.
Trooper Miles Carpenter responded to a family fight complaint in Milbridge. Parties were separated for the night. Marine Patrol assisted.
Trooper Chris Smith investigated a domestic violence incident in Sullivan. The woman arrived to remove her belongings and a confrontation ensued with her 36-year-old ex-boyfriend, who was arrested for domestic violence assault.
Trooper Chris Smith responded to Eastbrook for a family fight. Neither parties wished to pursue criminal charges. Both people were warned for disorderly conduct.
Trooper Chris Smith investigated an assault complaint in Franklin. It was reported that a 40-year-old man had assaulted him. Trooper Cliff Peterson later located the man and summonsed him for assault.
Trooper Miles Carpenter responded to a harassment complaint in Machiasport where it was reported the complainant was being harassed by two other men. The two men were both warned for harassment and also warned for trespassing on the complainant's property.
Trooper Cliff Peterson received a harassment complaint in Sullivan. It was reported that she was being harassed by her mother in Bangor. Bangor Police Department located the mother at her residence and warned her for harassment.
Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a theft complaint in Castine where a front license plate was reported stolen. Investigation continues.
Trooper Chris Smith investigated a crash on the Sullivan/Hancock Bridge. Investigation revealed that a 43-year-old Hancock man drifted over the centerline and caused another vehicle to swerve and crash into the guardrail. The driver was arrested for OUI-drugs and unlawful possession of scheduled drugs. Trooper Bryan Creamer assisted with the crash investigation. Bar Harbor Police Department Officer Larry Fickett assisted as a DRE (drug recognition expert).
Trooper Chris Smith investigated a vandalism complaint on the Pomeroy Road in Hancock where offensive artwork was painted on a vehicle. Investigation continues.
Trooper Chris Smith investigated a harassment complaint in Gouldsboro. As a result a man from of Hancock was issued a written cease harassment notice.
Trooper Chris Smith and K9 Winger responded to Enfield to assist Troop E with a track for a driver who fled from a rollover crash. While in route to the scene Trooper Smith was advised that a female subject was in custody and a confirmation track was requested. K9 Winger tracked from the driver's seat of the vehicle involved in the crash approximately an eighth of a mile to a residence. K9 Winger tracked around the residence to where the female was located by Trooper Adam Gould. At the end of the track, Sergeant Millett, Tr. Gould and the female in custody were standing side by side. K9 Winger indicated the female in custody was the person that he tracked. The 28-year-old female was from Howland.
Trooper Kim Sawyer received a suspicious person call in Princeton. A man was pacing out front of the house and then knocked on the door and asked to use the phone. The male left, went back out front and continued pacing. The complainant left to report to Indian Township Police and he was still there. When the complainant came back he and the car were gone.
Trooper Greg Roy arrested a 26-year-old Sedgwick man for operating under the influence as a result of a traffic stop on Rt. 15 in Deer Isle. The man was also held on a violation of probation.
Sergeant Alden Bustard responded to a report of a fight at a residence in Castine. As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old Amherst, New Hampshire man was summonsed for illegal possession of liquor by a minor.
Trooper Chris Smith stopped a vehicle in Steuben which was involved in a family fight that Trooper Keith York was investigating in Milbridge. As a result of the traffic stop Trooper Smith arrested a 32-year-old Ellsworth man on 3 outstanding warrants for failure to pay fines.
Trooper Jeffrey Taylor arrested a 38-year-old Steuben woman for operating under the influence of alcohol and operating after habitual offender revocation as result of a traffic stop in Steuben.
Trooper Greg Roy summonsed a 46-year-old Hancock man for operating unregistered motor vehicle greater than 150 Days as a result of a traffic stop on Rt. 1 in Hancock.
Trooper Greg Roy arrested a 47-year-old Franklin man on a criminal arrest warrant for failure to appear.
