Calais Police Weekly Report - Oct. 28, 2013
Over the past week the Calais Police Department had a total of 45 Incidents and 6 traffic accidents.
On Monday, October 21 at 6:50 AM the Calais Police Department assisted Eastport Police with a domestic assault. Calais officers were dispatch to the Calais Regional Hospital for a report of an assault which took place in Eastport. On arrival officers discovered that the victim of the assault was transported to CRH by the alleged suspect of the assault. Calais Officers detained the suspect until Eastport Police arrived and investigated the incident.
On Tuesday, October 22 at 3:20 AM officers responded to a Monroe Street apartment building due to reports of a female yelling for help. Once on scene officers investigated a domestic assault complaint, which lead to the arrest of a 36-year-old Calais man. He was charged with assault and criminal mischief and is scheduled to appear in on December 23. US Border Patrol Agents assisted during this incident.
On Friday. October 25 at 6:00PM the Calais Police Department with the assistance of US Customs and Border Protection, US Border Patrol, Baileyville Police and the Maine State Police executed a search warrant at 78 Monroe Street. Seized was a usable about of marijuana and drug paraphernalia officer issued a summons to a 23-year-old Calais woman. She is scheduled to appear on December 3 at Calais District Court.
Also on Friday, officers were called to Ferry Point Bridge for a person with a warrant that was attempting to come into the United States. Once there, officers arrested a 42-year-old Perry woman on a warrant for operating under the influence issued by Waterville PD.
The Calais Police Department want to remind all residence to be very careful during Halloween. This can be a very fun time for children and they don't always pay attention when on the roadways so please be careful and watch out for them while they are out trick or treating.
