Calais Police Beat - Oct. 14, 2013
During the week of October 6 thru October 12, 2013 the Calais police department had 49 incidents and investigated Three (3) harassment complaints, five (5) alarm calls, Five (5) 911 hang up calls and have done Five (5) bail checks.
On October 6th, officers were called to the commercial port at International Ave. where it was reported that a subject had illegal drugs. On arrival the officer found that the drug tested as Methamphetamine. With this information the officer charged a Chatham, Ontario man with illegal possession of a schedule drug. He's scheduled to appear in court on November 5.
On October 8, officers were called to the Calais District Court to arrest a 20-year-old Princeton woman on an outstanding warrant.
On October 11, an officer was called to Calais District Court and arrested a 34-year-old Edmunds man on an outstanding warrant.
On October 12, officers were called to the Ferry Point Bridge on Main street for a subject illegally possessing a firearm while being a felon. When Officers arrived they confirmed that the suspect was a felon and then arrested a 26-year-old Portland, Maine woman, for possession of a firearm by a felon. She is scheduled to appear in superior court in Machias on December 23.
