Calais Police Weekly Report - Oct. 07, 2013
Calais Police Department responded to a total of 54 incidents and 6 motor vehicle accidents over the past week. Several complaints received were resolved with harassment warnings wherein parties are admonished to have no contact with each other.
Also received were several reports of theft. Some items were determined not to have been stolen, merely misplaced while other reports remain under investigation.
Officers responded to domestic assault complaints on Sept. 29 and again on Oct. 4. These complaints were closed when officers determined no physical altercation occurred and the parties were separated to calm the situation.
On Sunday, Oct. 6, a 57-year-old Chatham, Ontario man was summoned for unlawful possession of scheduled drugs when drugs were located as part of the process of clearing US Customs. The subject s scheduled to appear in Calais District Court in November.
This week, we have welcomed back to Calais PD, Sgt. John Preston who has been away from us since July. We are thankful he has returned and look forward to his long career in Calais.
This was also the first week for our former Sgt. Chris Donahue in his new position as a Deputy with the Washington County Sheriff's Department. We wish Chris well in his new endeavors and will certainly miss him at CPD.
