Troop J Weekly Report - Aug. 19, 2013
This week Troop J responded to 163 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints:
Trooper Jason Fowler received a theft complaint in Machiasport. It was reported that the headlights had been taken from a Dodge Dakota pickup that was on a property and was for sale.
Trooper Jeff Taylor received a criminal mischief complaint in Sullivan. It was reported that a mailbox had been damaged during the night.
Trooper Staci Carpenter and Sergeant Alden Bustard responded to a trespassing complaint in Columbia Falls. It was reported that the complainant was having problems with two migrant workers who were raking blueberries and he wanted them removed from the property. A 28-year-old man and a 59-year-old man, both of Belle Grade, Florida were escorted from the property and warned not to return or they would be arrested for criminal trespassing.
Sergeant Jeffrey Ingemi assisted Marshfield Fire Department with traffic control at a propane leak in Marshfield.
Trooper Daniel Ryan assisted in locating a bag with a passport in Orland and returned it to its owner in New Hampshire.
Trooper Chris Smith attempted to stop a vehicle for MDEA that was suspected of transporting drugs on Route 9 in Amherst. The vehicle failed to stop and led Trooper Smith on an 8.4 mile pursuit into Aurora which ended on a dead end road. The driver James Storey, 48, from Bailyville was arrested for Eluding and officer, driving to endanger, and criminal speed. James was also arrested on separate drug charges by MDEA. Sergeant Timothy Varney and several MDEA Agents assisted.
Trooper Jason Fowler assisted US Customs with a commercial vehicle violation at the Calais port of entry. A 28-year-old man from Trois Ruissear, New Brunswick was summonsed for CMV Rule Violation – Operating After Fourteen hours and was also placed out of service for eight hours.
Trooper Chris Smith summonsed a 28-year-old Sullivan woman for OAS as the result of a traffic stop in Hancock.
Trooper Chris Smith arrested a 27-year-old Gouldsboro man on an arrest warrant for failure to pay fines. Trooper Smith also summonsed him for OAS as the result of a traffic stop in Ellsworth.
Trooper Chris Smith investigated a disorderly conduct incident that occurred at the Franklin Town Office. As a result the man was located and warned for his conduct. The man was upset about another Franklin resident who was driving a vehicle with disabled veteran plates on their vehicle.
Trooper Jeff Taylor summonsed a 49-year-old Addison woman for Operating After Suspension as the result of a traffic stop in Jonesport.
Trooper Greg Roy summonsed a 57-year-old Deer Isle man for Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle as the result of a traffic stop in Sedgwick.
Sergeant Alden Bustard arrested a 32-year-old Garland woman on an outstanding arrest warrant for failure to pay fines as the result of a traffic stop in Dedham. She was also summonsed for Operating After Suspension.
Trooper Miles Carpenter responded to a trespassing complaint in Hancock where a man was found in a garage that did not belong to him. Investigation continues.
Trooper Miles Carpenter responded to a family fight complaint in Sorrento. This was found to be verbal only in nature and they were separated for the night.
Trooper Chad Lindsey arrested an 18-year-old Princeton man for violation of conditional release after a urine test revealed the presence of marijuana. Sergeant Jeffrey Ingemi assisted.
Trooper Jason Fowler received a criminal mischief complaint in Roque Bluffs. The complainant reported that she had just arrived at her summer residence and discovered the window on the door had been broken.
Trooper Jeff Taylor received a theft complaint in Sullivan. It was reported that a propane tank had been taken from outside a residence during the night.
Trooper Greg Roy received a report of a vehicle operating erratically in Orland. The vehicle was located and the operator, a 49-year-old Winterport subject, was arrested for Attaching False Plates and Operating Under the Influence of Drugs. Trooper Jason Fowler assisted with a DRE evaluation and determined that this person was under the influence of CNS depressants and narcotic analgesics.
Trooper Daniel Ryan responded to Penobscot for a family fight which was reported to be out of control. A woman was intoxicated and fled the residence before arrival. She was located a short time later and parties were separated. Investigation continues.
