Troop J Weekly Report - Aug. 12, 2013
This week Troop J responded to 161 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints:
Trooper Cliff Peterson responded to a report of an intoxicated male subject who was out of control at a residence in Amherst. The subject was taken to a friendís residence nearby. A second subject at the residence, a 35-year-old Newport man was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for unpaid fines.
Trooper Greg Roy received a theft complaint in Deer Isle. It was reported that tools were taken from a jobsite. The investigation continues.
Trooper Jeff Taylor summonsed a 46-year-old Machiasport man for Criminal Speeding on Route 191 in Berry Township.
Trooper Jason Fowler assisted US Customs with a commercial vehicle violation at the port of entry in Calais. A 57-year-old Nova Scotia man was summonsed for CMV Rule Violation-14 Hour Rule and was placed out of service for eight hours.
Trooper Cliff Peterson received a theft complaint in Osborn. The complainant reported the theft of an Old Town canoe sometime over the weekend.
Trooper Greg Roy a 20-year-old Bangor woman for Criminal Speeding as the result of a traffic stop in Trenton.
Trooper Greg Roy arrested a 28-year-old man from West Hartford, Connecticut for OUI as the result of a traffic stop in Ellsworth. The man had been arrested earlier in the morning on this date by New Hampshire State Police for possession of heroin.
Trooper Jeff Taylor received a theft complaint in Harrington. The complainant reported that he believed his now ex-girlfriend had taken his belongings while he was in jail over the weekend. The ex-girlfriend denied taking the belongings.
Trooper Jason Fowler received a trespassing complaint in Danforth. It was reported that a man had entered his garage and taken his equipment. It was determined that the equipment belonged to the man and he had loaned it to the complainant. The man was warned for trespassing.
Trooper Jason Fowler assisted US Customs with a commercial vehicle violation at the port of entry in Calais. A 66-year-old Madison man was summonsed for CMV Rule Violation-14 Hour Rule and was placed out of service for eight hours.
Trooper Jeff Taylor summonsed three men -- two 20-year-olds of Steuben and an 18-year-old Gouldsboro man for Possession of Drug Paraphernalia as the result of a traffic stop in Steuben.
Trooper Staci Carpenter received a harassment complaint from in East Machias. Harassment warnings were given.
Trooper Greg Roy arrested a 52-year-old Rochester, New Hampshire man for OUI as the result of a traffic stop in Bucksport.
Trooper Staci Carpenter and Trooper Jeff Taylor responded to an assault complaint at the American Legion in Lubec. The investigation disclosed there had been ongoing issues between two female parties of Lubec which led the assaults. The case will be submitted to the DA's office for review.
Trooper Jason Fowler assisted US Customs in Calais with a possible false log violation. A 42-year-old man from Prince Edward Island, Canada was summonsed for CMV Rule Violation-Operation with False Duty Status, and Failing to Submit Duty Status Record within 13 Days. The carrier also received a summons for Semi Trailer exceeding 43' wheelbase.
