Calais PD Warns Of Counterfeit Currency In Area - Jul. 09, 2013
CALAIS, Maine (WQDY) - It appears that counterfeit bills are being circulated in the local area. Some local businesses reported receiving some bogus bills last week. The investigation will be turned over to the U.S. Secret Service.
The Calais police are cautioning everyone to be careful with currency they are receiving to make sure it is genuine.
Police say if you are unsure whether a bill you have is counterfeit or real to either contact your financial institution or or the Calais Police Department at 454-2751.
