Troop J Weekly Report - Jul. 08, 2013
This week Troop J responded to 229 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints:
Trooper Bryan Creamer investigated a report of stolen medications from a residence in Orland. When the complainant returned home from work she noticed her prescription of Vicodin looked different, there were only two pills left. The investigation continues.
Trooper Chad Lindsey arrested a 34 year-old man for Terrorizing and a 67-year-old woman for driving to endanger both from the same complaint in Princeton.
Trooper Miles Carpenter responded to a fatal crash in Hancock where the operator Edward Fowler, 20, and passenger Brittany Poors, 16, were killed as a result of the crash. Two other passengers sustained injuries and were transported to Maine Coast Memorial hospital in Ellsworth.
Trooper Chad Lindsey responded to Robbinston where $73 in cash, chop saw and a browning pump 30-06 rifle were stolen. Investigation continues.
Trooper Kim Sawyer received a telephone harassment complaint in East Machias that the complainant was receiving harassing messages from an out of state phone number. Trooper Kim Sawyer gave a warning to the person who resides in North Carolina for telephone harassment.
Trooper Bryan Creamer investigated a report of property damage in Lamoine. The complainant said that he let his son and his son's girlfriend use one of his riding lawn mowers and when the son moved out the girlfriend allegedly broke the hood of the lawn mower. The investigation continues.
Trooper Andy Foss responded to Machiasport for an assault. The complainant did not wish to pursue criminal charges.
Sergeant Alden Bustard summonsed a 24-year-old Dedham man with Operating Without a Driverís License as the result of a traffic stop in Dedham.
Trooper Chris Smith investigated an erratic vehicle complaint on Route 9. As a result Trooper Smith located and arrested a 34-year-old Ipswich, Massachusetts man for OUI. He was attempting to return to Massachusetts after attending the Phish concert in Bangor.
Trooper Keith York arrested a 31-year-old Cherryfield man for OUI in Milbridge.
Trooper Andy Foss responded to Machiasport where a female complainant was reporting being harassed by a male, meanwhile the male was reporting that the female was traveling too fast on the driveway which is also a right of way that that goes to a camp the male care takes of. Both parties were advised to let law enforcement to handle future incidents.
Trooper Andy Foss responded to a burglary in Marshfield where cooking utensils and floor tile were stolen. Investigation continues.
Trooper Staci Carpenter summonsed a 39-year-old Hancock man for Operating a Motor Vehicle With an Expired License over 90 days on Route 1 in Whiting.
Trooper Staci Carpenter responded to a three vehicle car crash on Route 189 in Lubec. A 22-year-old Lubec man was charged with OUI.
Trooper Kim Sawyer responded to Finney's Bar in Lubec for two men that were stabbed. After investigation, a 42-year-old man was arrested for aggravated assault. Trooper Jeffery Taylor assisted with the arrest. Sergeant Tim Varney, Deputy Greg Sawyer and officers from Eastport and Pleasant Point also assisted.
Trooper Keith York arrested a 47-year-old Jonesboro man for Domestic Violence Assault in Beals.
Trooper Jeffrey Taylor summonsed a 24-year-old Cincinnati, Ohio woman for Possession of Usable Amount of Marijuana.
Trooper Kim Sawyer received a call for a family fight in Lubec. After investigation it was determined to be verbal in nature. Deputy Greg Sawyer assisted.
Trooper Kim Sawyer received a call from the Ocean View Nursing home for a resident that was assaulting people. The resident was taken to Downeast Hospital where his doctor was going to have him blue papered.
Trooper Chris Smith recovered a large quantity of stolen power tools in Ellsworth. Trooper Smith assisted Ellsworth Police Department with a theft investigation related to the recovered tools.
Sergeant Tim Varney investigated a 2 vehicle crash on Route 3 in Trenton in front of the Moose Crossing Store. Two passenger vans collided causing Route 3 to be shut down for a short time. 9 people were involved and most received minor injuries. Sergeant Jason Sattler assisted.
