"Bottle Bombs" Can Cause Harm Say RCMP - Apr. 24, 2013
The RCMP in St. Andrews are investigating reports that as many as five "bottle bombs" were set off in a residential area of St. Andrews earlier this week.
Police said residents along St. Croix Avenue heard small explosions coming from the street Monday evening between 6:00 and 8:30 p.m..
Remnants from one of the devices was recovered by police and indicates that plastic bottles were used to create the explosions.
"There was no property damage or injuries reported," says Sgt. Robert MacKnight. "But, we do want people to know that the use of these devices is dangerous. It's more than a prank, and people caught setting them off could face criminal charges such as mischief endangering life or arson."
