Troop J Weekly Report - Mar. 11, 2013
This week Troop J responded to 112 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints:
3-4-13
Trooper Andrew Foss arrested a 29-year-old man in Lubec for having an active warrant for his arrest. Sergeant Jeffrey Ingemi assisted.
Trooper Chad Lindsey and Trooper Andrew Foss responded to a family fight complaint in Baileyville. This complaint was determined to be unfounded.
3-5-13
Trooper Chris Smith investigated a burglary in Sorrento. The complainant awakened to see someone entering his bedroom and taking clothing before fleeing. The suspect fled out a window of the residence and left the area on foot. The suspect also gained entry into the person's vehicle as well by forcing open the passenger side door. Trooper Joshua D'Angelo and his K-9 Junior were called to assist with conducting a track. The suspect was not immediately located. Sergeant Tim Varney assisted with the investigation.

Trooper Kim Sawyer received a complaint in Robbinston that someone had cut her screen and plastic to her back porch.
3-7-13
Trooper Chris Smith responded to Cherryfield for a reported trespassing complaint. It was reported that a 25-year-old man was just at a residence and trying to enter to get his belongings. The man fled once he knew the police had been called. Trooper Smith was involved in a short foot chase with the man. After a brief search of the area, the subject was found in his mother's residence in Cherryfield where he was staying without permission. The man eventually surrendered and he was arrested on 2 warrants for failure to appear out of Augusta and Lewiston District Courts. Sergeant Tim Varney, Trooper Keith York, and Game Warden Scott Osgood assisted.
Trooper Chris Smith investigated an ongoing vandalism complaint in Jonesport. It was reported that 2 of the outbuildings on the vacant property keep getting vandalized resulting in broken windows and locks. Investigation continues.
Trooper Cliff Peterson responded to a report of a vehicle off the road in Blue Hill. The 24-year-old male operator of Sedgwick, had been drinking and was arrested for Violation of Conditions of Release and on an outstanding arrest warrant.

Trooper Michael Southard responded to an assault complaint in Hancock where man was found to have been assaulted by an unknown male after he had initiated a fight with the unknown male. The injured man refused to cooperate with the investigation.
Trooper Michael Southard responded to a burglary complaint in Otis where air tools were reported stolen from a barn. Investigation continues.
Trooper Michael Southard responded to a violation of conditional release complaint in Verona Island where it was reported that a man had violated his bail conditions. This was determined to be unfounded. The complainant was warned for false report and harassment. Trooper Daniel Ryan assisted.
Trooper Jason Fowler received a report of a vehicle off the road in Baring. Trooper Fowler located the vehicle and arrested the 39-year-old operator of Baring for Operating Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor. He was also charged with Refusing to Submit to Arrest and Refusing to Sign a USAC.
