WCSO Weekly Report - Feb. 07, 2013
2/01 to 2/07
During the past week, several officers have responded to requests for well-being checks around the county. The Sheriff's Office would like to remind people to keep an eye on elderly and house-bound neighbors and relatives during the cold winter months and during power outages.
02/01:
Cpl. Parker responded to an entry alarm for a commercial property in Jonesport. It was discovered to have been an employee entry. Premises were otherwise found to be safe.
02/02:
A caller reported that the door of his tool shed on Garnet Head Road in Pembroke had been torn off. Sgt. Rolfe responded to the call and began an investigation.
Sgt. Rolfe responded to a report of a stolen chainsaw from a logging site in Cooper. Investigation is pending depending on further information about the saw from the owner.
Sgt. Rolfe was assisted by Officer Murray of the Pleasant Point Police Department in response to a call from a Pembroke resident reporting a possible criminal trespass at her residence. Investigation revealed that the parties involved were members of the same family. There was concern by some that an elderly family member was living in unsafe conditions. An investigation into the house revealed suitable living conditions. No further action was taken.
Lt. Willey responded to an argument at a residence in Milbridge. Milbridge Police Officer Worcester assisted with the call. The parties were separated for the night.
02/03:
Lt. Willey responded to a single vehicle accident on Route 187 in Addison. No one was hurt and the vehicle was towed from the scene.
02/05:
Cpl. Pineo responded to a report of theft of cash on the Palmer Landing road in East Machias. Investigation is on-going.
02/06:
Deputy Allen responded to a report of an accident on the Jacksonville Road in East Machias where a vehicle had struck a deer. No one was hurt. The Sheriff's Office has attended a number of accidents of the past few weeks involving deer and reminds drivers to be careful, particularly at night when the deer are the most active.
02/07:
Sheriff Smith was appointed to the Domestic Violence Committee of the National Sheriff’s Association Alexandra Virginia.
