Troop J Weekly Report - Feb. 04, 2013

This week Troop J responded to 136 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints:

1-28-13

Trooper Andrew Foss and Recruit Jeffrey Taylor handled a theft complaint in Charlotte where a computer was reported stolen or missing. Investigation continues.

Trooper Andrew Foss and Recruit Jeffrey Taylor arrested a 34-year-old man in Pembroke for having an active warrant for his arrest.

Trooper Andrew Foss and Recruit Jeffrey Taylor responded to a crash in Jonesboro where a vehicle went off the road. Sergeant Jeffrey Ingemi, MDOT and Jonesboro Fire Department assisted.

Trooper Chris Smith investigated a criminal trespass complaint in Steuben. The property owner reported that local fishermen continue to trespass by parking on his property. The property dispute issue has recently been in litigation with the Town of Steuben. Investigation continues.

Trooper Chris Smith warnings were given to a woman of Steuben for telephone harassment as the result of calling a residence in Cherryfield.

Trooper Chris Smith responded to an attempted burglary in Cherryfield. The man arrived home to find that the door to his apartment was forced open. It was reported that no items were taken. The door frame suffered damage as a result of the forced entry. Investigation continues.

Trooper Jason Fowler summonsed a 32-year-old Alexander man for two separate class B burglaries to residences in Princeton. The summonses stem from cases investigated this summer in which there was a rash of burglaries from Calais to Waite.

Trooper Jason Fowler summonsed a 29-year-old Princeton man for Criminal Mischief.

1-30-13

Trooper Chris Smith investigated an on-going harassment complaint in Hancock. It was reported that a daughter and mother of Hancock have been coming to the business for the past 5 months and harassing the staff about 4 boxes of movies that were sent to the business. The boxes were delivered by accident and the residents watched the movies. The mother and daughter were warned not to return to the business and that the issue is civil in nature.

Trooper Staci Carpenter received an identity theft complaint in Cherryfield. The investigation continues.

1-31-13

Trooper Cliff Peterson responded to a domestic dispute at a residence in Hancock. The dispute was verbal in nature and no further action was taken.

2-1-13

Trooper Andrew Foss and Recruit Jeffrey Taylor handled a lost property complaint where a wallet was reported missing in Columbia Falls. Investigation continues.

Trooper Andrew Foss, Trooper Chad Lindsey and Recruit Jeffrey Taylor responded to an assault complaint in Columbia Falls involving a 28-year-old man who was arrested for aggravated assault. Washington Sheriff’s Office assisted.

Trooper Chad Lindsey handled a phone harassment complaint in Waite where both parties were warned to stop harassing each other.

Trooper Bryan Creamer responded to a family fight in Sullivan. As a result, Trooper Creamer arrested a 34-year-old Harrington man for Domestic Violence Criminal Mischief and for Obstructing the Report of a Crime. He was assisted by Officer Jim Malloy of Milbridge Police Department.

2-2-13

Trooper Daniel Ryan responded to Castine to assist the fire department with a fire scene where some people were reported to be uncooperative.

Trooper Daniel Ryan responded to a family fight complaint in Penobscot. This was found to be verbal in nature and the parties were separated.

Sergeant Timothy Varney arrested a 20-year-old Brewer man on an outstanding warrant after he was stopped in a vehicle for speeding on Route 9 in Aurora.

Trooper David Barnard responded to a burglary in Otis. It was a vacant residence and someone had gone in and cut all the copper pipes out. Investigation continues.

2-3-13

Trooper Daniel Ryan responded to an assault complaint in Blue Hill. The person admitted to criminal mischief which caused him to be assaulted. The complainant did not wish to pursue charges.

Trooper Chad Lindsey arrested a 41-year-old woman in Danforth for having an active warrant for her arrest.

Trooper Chris Smith arrested a 21-year-old Ellsworth woman for operating under the influence as the result of a traffic stop in Hancock.

Trooper Kim Sawyer received a report of a burglary/criminal mischief in Robbinston. Someone pried the sliding wooden door of a shed. The caretaker reported to the owner that he didn’t believe anything was missing.
