Troop J Weekly Report - Jan. 28, 2013
This week Troop J responded to 111 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints:
Jan. 21:
Trooper Kim Sawyer assisted Border Patrol in the parking lot of the Princeton Circle K. As a result, Trooper Sawyer summonsed a 31-year-old man for OAS Class E.
Jan. 23:
Trooper Bryan Creamer arrested a 24-year-old woman on an outstanding warrant after she was stopped on Route 1 in Hancock.
Trooper Bryan Creamer investigated a two vehicle crash on Route 1 in Orland in front of a convenience store. The driver of a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling west and turning into the store. The driver of a 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass was traveling east. The Cutlass appeared to have hit the Jeep vehicle near the passenger side rear tire causing the vehicle to roll over. Both vehicles had to be towed from the scene. Bucksport ambulance attended to everyone involved in the crash, and no one was transported to the hospital. Orland Fire Department helped with clean up.
Trooper David Barnard stopped a vehicle on Route 1A in Dedham. The 27-year-old male operator was arrested and charged with possession of stolen property. The passenger, also 27, was arrested on two warrants, violation of bail and charged with possession of stolen property and failure to give correct name. Trooper Barnard was assisted by Trooper Creamer and Trooper Southard.
Jan. 24:
Trooper Barnard stopped a vehicle on Route 1 in Sullivan. A 21-year-old passenger was arrested on two warrants.
Trooper Kim Sawyer received a report of a stolen chain saw in Machiasport. The investigation continues.
Trooper Kim Sawyer summonsed a 28-year-old Whiting man for operating without a license after a traffic stop on Route 1 in Whiting.
Trooper Greg Roy arrested a 27-year-old Ellsworth man for operating under the influence of intoxicating Liquor as the result of a traffic stop in Ellsworth. Morse was transported to the Hancock County jail.
Jan. 25:
Trooper Michael Southard handled found property complaint in Hancock where a kayak was reported found in a yard.
Sergeant Alden Bustard arrested a 32-year-old Orland woman for operating after suspension and violation of conditions of release as the result of a traffic stop on Route 1A in Ellsworth.
Trooper Cliff Peterson received a theft complaint in Dedham. It was reported that several brass fittings had been taken from a storage trailer. Investigation continues.
Trooper Cliff Peterson investigated a civil complaint in Dedham. A tenant reported that her landlord was in the basement of her apartment building and he was not supposed to have contact with her. This is part of an ongoing civil dispute between the two parties. The landlord had been working on the furnace in the basement and the contact was initiated by the tenant. The tenant was advised that this was a civil matter and no further action would be taken.
Trooper Greg Roy and Trooper Cliff Peterson responded to a dispute in Stonington. A 27-year-old man was arrested for domestic assault and was transported to the Hancock County jail in Ellsworth.
Jan. 26:
Trooper Michael Southard summonsed a 22-year-old man in Orland for illegal attachment of plates.
Jan. 27:
Trooper Daniel Ryan and Trooper Michael Southard responded to a family fight complaint in Blue Hill. It is unknown if any crimes occurred where neither party was cooperative with the investigation.
Trooper Chad Lindsey arrested a 28-year-old man in Danforth for violation of conditional release after a urine test showed positive results for opiates.
