CPD:Two Arrests After Warrant Turns Up Load Of Pot, Cash - Jan. 25, 2013
CALAIS, Maine (WQDY) - Two people have been arrested after Calais police executed a search warrant at a residence on Munroe Street. One arrest came Wednesday and the other a day later.
Sgt. Chris Donahue told WQDY NEWS that Jenna Hicks, 22, was arrested and charged with possession of a usable amount of marijuana and use and sale of drug paraphernalia.
The US Border Patrol assisted Calais officers with their K-9.
Police seized various items from the residence that included a safe.
Donahue said Wednesday that another occupant of the residence was being sought for questioning. "More charges may be pending," he said.
Calais police had to obtain another search warrant in order to open the safe and that happened late Thursday afternoon.
"Inside the safe was located a substantial amount of cash and over a pound of marijuana. From the evidence located in the safe, Christopher Dow, 21, of Calais was arrested for unlawful trafficking in a Scheduled drug. He's in the Washington County Jail the last I knew," Donahue told WQDY NEWS Friday morning.
