Troop J Weekly Report - Jan. 14, 2013
This week Troop J responded to 136 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints:
Jan. 7:
Trooper Daniel Ryan arrested a woman in Blue Hill for operating after suspension and for having an active warrant for her arrest.
Trooper Cliff Peterson received a telephone harassment complaint in Hancock between two businesses. Warnings were given.
Trooper Jason Fowler summonsed a 26-year-old Marshfield man for Operating an Unregistered Motor Vehicle as the result of a traffic stop in East Machias.
Jan. 8:
Trooper Andrew Foss responded to a theft complaint in Machiasport where money was reported stolen. Investigation continues.
Trooper Michael Southard handled a complaint in Franklin where it was reported that a 34-year-old man was in violation of his conditions of release. The man was located by Brewer Police Department in Brewer and arrested by Trooper Southard for violation of conditions of release.
Trooper Greg Roy summonsed a 43-year-old Stockton Springs man for Harassment by Telephone as a result of an incident that took place at the Bucksport Veterinary Hospital.
Jan. 9:
Trooper Andrew Foss responded to a theft complaint in Princeton where a cell phone charges were reported stolen. This was determined to be unfounded.
Jan. 10:
Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a criminal mischief compliant in Sedgwick where a house was hit by a paintball. Investigation continues.
Trooper Michael Southard responded to Dedham for a report of an assault where he arrested a 35-yearold man. Trooper Daniel Ryan and Ellsworth Police Department assisted.
Trooper Chris Smith conducted follow up investigation in regards to a burglary reported on 01-05-2013 in Cherryfield. As a result Trooper Smith recovered stolen property and interviewed a 31-year-old Bar Harbor subject who was later summonsed for Class C theft and Class C Burglary on 1-10-13.
Trooper Keith York arrested a Jonesport subject for Operating after Suspension in Harrington after a traffic stop.
Trooper Bryan Creamer arrested a 47-year-old Hancock man for OUI after finding the vehicle he was driving in a snow bank on the side of Route 1 in Hancock.
Trooper Keith York summonsed a Jonesboro man for Attaching False Plates in Jonesboro after a traffic stop.
Jan. 11:
Trooper Greg Roy arrested a 71-year-old Franklin man for Operating Under the Influence as a result of a traffic stop in Franklin.
Jan. 12:
Trooper Greg Roy attempted to stop a vehicle on Route 1 in Orland for Criminal Speeding. The vehicle refused to stop and fled at a high rate of speed. Trooper Roy pursued and after a short pursuit reaching speeds over 100 mph, a 37-year-old Bucksport man pulled into a driveway and was arrested for Eluding an Officer, Criminal Speed and Operating Under the Influence. The man was taken to the Hancock County Jail.
Trooper Cliff Peterson arrested a 30-year-old Harrington man for Violation of Probation. He admitted that he had been drinking in violation of his probation conditions.
Trooper Cliff Peterson arrested a 40-year-old Gouldsboro man for Operating Under the Influence of Intoxicating Liquor as the result of a traffic stop in Hancock.
Sergeant Alden Bustard arrested a 23-year-old Sullivan man for Violation of Probation as the result of a probation search. The subject has been charged with Unlawful Possession of Schedule W Drugs and faces several additional charges.
Trooper Staci Carpenter arrested a 29-year-old Jonesport man for Operating After Suspension and two outstanding arrest warrants as the result of a traffic stop in Jonesport.
Trooper Jason Fowler and Recruit Jeff Taylor received a report of an underage drinking party in Princeton. As a result of the investigation, a 24-year-old Baileyville man was arrested for Furnishing a Place of Minors to Consume Alcohol. A 22-year-old South Portland man was arrested for Assault on Trooper Fowler. Several subjects from the Calais to Princeton area were summonsed for Illegal Possession of Liquor by a Minor: A few juveniles were summonsed for Illegal Possession of Liquor by a Juvenile. The US Border Patrol, Indian Township Police Department and Baileyville Police Department also assisted at the scene.
Trooper Keith York arrested a Deblois man for an active Warrant. He was apprehended in Deblois and was also charged with possession of marijuana.
Trooper Kim Sawyer arrested a 30-year-old Cherryfield man for violating conditions of release and OAS after a traffic stop for speed on Route 9, Township 29.
