Troop J Weekly Report - Jan. 07, 2013
This week Troop J responded to 130 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints:
Dec. 31:
Trooper Bryan Creamer investigated a two vehicle personal injury crash on Route 1 in Hancock. A van rear ended another vehicle while they were both heading east. The driver of the van and the two people in the other vehicle were taken to Maine Coast Memorial Hospital for injuries sustained in the crash. None of the four passengers in the van were injured.
Trooper Greg Roy summonsed a 59-year-old Deer Isle man for Operating After Suspension as the result of a traffic stop in Orland.
Trooper Cliff Peterson summonsed a 42-year-old Stoneham, MA. man for Operating After Suspension as the result of a traffic stop in Hancock.
Trooper Cliff Peterson arrested a 21-year-old Ellsworth man for OUI as the result of a traffic stop in Sullivan. He was transported to the Hancock County jail in Ellsworth.
Jan. 1:
Trooper Staci Carpenter received a theft complaint from a man in Perry. A toolbox and a drill set had been taken from his girlfriend's vehicle sometime during the night.
Jan. 4:
Trooper Daniel Ryan arrested a 48-year-old man in Penobscot for operating under the influence of alcohol.
Trooper Andrew Foss handled a theft complaint in Marshfield where a chainsaw was reported stolen. Investigation continues.
Jan. 5:
Trooper Chris Smith investigated a debit card fraud incident reported in Cherryfield. The complainant's bank alerted her of suspicious transactions. Investigation continues.
Trooper Chris Smith investigated a burglary in Cherryfield. Reported was the theft of 2 Apple laptop computers, 2 gold necklaces and a jar of change missing from the residence. Investigation continues.
Trooper Kim Sawyer summonsed a 44-year-old Indian Township woman for criminal OAS and seatbelt after a traffic stop for no seatbelt on Route 1, Princeton.
Sergeant Alden Bustard summonsed a 23-year-old East Machias man for Operating Without a Driver's License as the result of a traffic stop in Machias.
Trooper Greg Roy summonsed a 38-year-old Franklin man for Operating After Suspension as the result of a traffic stop in Franklin.
Trooper Greg Roy initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle on the Rabbit Town Road in Franklin. The operator attempted to flee down a woods road which was not plowed and his vehicle became stuck. Trooper Roy chased the vehicle for approximately a hundred and fifty yards on foot to where the vehicle was stuck. The 20-year-old operator of Trenton, was arrested on an outstanding arrest warrant for failure to appear. He was also summonsed for Improper Attachment of Registration Plates.
