Troop J Weekly Report - Dec. 31, 2012
This week Troop J responded to 123 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints:
Dec. 24:
Trooper Jason Fowler received a telephone harassment complaint in Grand Lake Stream. A 51-year-old Baileyville man was summonsed for Telephone Harassment for sending threatening text messages.
Dec. 26:
Trooper Jason Fowler received a criminal mischief complaint in Topsfield. It was reported that sometime last fall, someone had drilled a hole in the gas tank of a wood chipper parked in the MDOT lot.
Trooper Cliff Peterson received a theft complaint in Orland. It was reported that a Christmas present had been stolen from a mailbox.
Trooper Michael Southard responded to a crash in Hancock where a 46-year-old man was later charged for leaving the scene of an accident.
Dec. 27:
Sergeant Alden Bustard and Trooper Greg Roy assisted Ellsworth Police Department with locating a 38-year-old Hancock man who had posted several threatening comments on Facebook in reference that the school shooting in Connecticut. He was located and taken into custody without incident and charged with Terrorizing and Violation of Conditions of Release.
Dec. 28:
Trooper Andrew Foss responded to a crash in Edmunds where he summonsed the 41-year-old operator of Kentucky for operating without a license.
Trooper Andrew Foss arrested a 26-year-old woman in Jonesboro for violation of conditional release for a curfew violation and for testing positive for drugs.
Trooper Michael Southard arrested a 46-year-old man in Hancock for operating without a license. A passenger, also 46, was also arrested for having an active warrant for his arrest and transported by Hancock Sheriff’s Office which assisted with the traffic stop.
Trooper Chris Smith investigated an assault complaint in Jonesport. It was reported that he was assaulted by an 18-year-old Addison man while he was plowing snow in Jonesport. The 18-year-old was later located and summonsed for assault.
Dec. 29:
Trooper Chad Lindsey summonsed a 49-year-old New Brunswick man in Alexander for operating after suspension.
Trooper Michael Southard responded to a family fight complaint in Orland. A 60-year-old man was arrested for assault and summonsed for harassment. Hancock Sheriff’s Office assisted.
Trooper Bryan Creamer investigated a report of a suspicious person in an apartment in Trenton. An intoxicated man was found in her apartment in the middle of the night. The man was located the next day and given a Trespass warning not to return to the apartment.
Dec. 30:
Trooper Chris Smith investigated a threatening incident in Franklin. It was reported that there was a confrontation with an unknown plow truck operator who was plowing the road. The man reports that the plow truck operator threatened him after a heated conversation as to how he felt the roadway should be plowed. Investigation continues.
Trooper Kim Sawyer received a complaint in Topsfield where the person was being harassed by phone and texts. Trooper Kim Sawyer warned the party.
