Troop J Weekly Report - Dec. 03, 2012

This week Troop J responded to 139 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints:


Nov. 19:


Trooper Chris Smith stopped a 25-year-old Hancock man for operating after suspension in Ellsworth. As a result of further investigation Trooper Smith found a handgun in the vehicle that the man had just stolen from a residential burglary in Eastbrook. The subject was further in possession of a stolen debit card, and was arrested and summonsed for OAS, burglary, theft of a firearm, and possession of hypodermic apparatus.


Nov. 25:


Trooper Jason Fowler summonsed a 30-year-old Calais man for failure to give notice of accident by quickest means.


Nov. 26:


Trooper Michael Southard investigated a violation of bail complaint in Harrington where it was reported that a 42-year-old man had been in contact with a person in violation of his bail conditions. The man was located and arrested by Sergeant Jeffrey Ingemi in Harrington. He was charged with violation of conditional release.


Trooper Greg Roy summonsed a 31-year-old Orland man for illegal attachment of registration plates as the result of a traffic stop in Orland.


Trooper Staci Carpenter received a theft complaint in Machiasport. It was reported that a CB radio had been taken from one of the town vehicles.


Trooper Staci Carpenter received a criminal mischief complaint. It was reported that the latch had been pried off a residence in Trescott.


Trooper Jason Fowler responded to a report of a possible burglary in progress at a residence in Princeton. The suspect had left the scene prior to the trooper's arrival. The suspect abandoned his vehicle nearby and fled on foot. The suspect was located a short time later and was identified as being a 26-year-old Princeton man. It was determined that the man had permission from the homeowner to remove property from the residence. However, he fled because his license was under suspension. The man was summonsed for operating after suspension.


Nov. 28:


Trooper Chad Lindsey arrested a 22-year-old man in Danforth for having an active warrant for his arrest.


Trooper Kim Sawyer received a complaint that a diamond engagement ring and a wedding band were stolen in East Machias. Investigation continues.


Trooper Kim Sawyer received a complaint in Pembroke that a door had been kicked in on one of the residences that no one is living in. Trooper Sawyer found the door wide open, the door lock damaged, and the furnace running. Investigation continues.


Nov. 30:


Trooper Chris Smith investigated the report of a theft of medication in Sullivan. It was reported that ritalin and suboxone were stolen out of the vehicle. Investigation continues.


Dec. 1:


Sergeant Alden Bustard arrested a 42-year-old Blue Hill man for OUI as the result of a traffic stop in Blue Hill. He was also summonsed for possession of a useable amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.


Trooper Kim Sawyer arrested a 30-year-old Cherryfield man for a warrant after a traffic stop on Route 9 in Crawford.


Dec. 2:


Trooper Cliff Peterson, Trooper Greg Roy and Sergeant Alden Bustard responded to a report of a large party in Castine. The residence is occupied by Maine Maritime Academy students and there have been previous issues with large parties. A warning was given for disorderly conduct.
