Troop J Weekly Report - Nov. 05, 2012
This week Troop J responded to 175 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints:
Oct. 29:
Trooper Miles Carpenter handled a harassment complaint in Machiasport. Investigation continues.
Trooper Michael Southard handled a theft complaint in Trenton where an 11-foot boat was reported stolen. Investigation continues.
Trooper Chris Smith responded a fight in Sullivan. Trooper Smith assisted the complainant with gathering her belongings and she left the residence for the night.
Oct. 30:
Trooper Miles Carpenter responded to the Mountain View School in Sullivan for a report that a student brought marijuana brownies to school to give to other children. A 32-year-old woman was arrested for aggravated furnishing of marijuana and possession of hypodermic apparatus. She was also summonsed for possession of drug paraphernalia. Trooper Barry Meserve, his K-9, MDEA and DHHS assisted.
Trooper Smith arrested Rachel Dwyer on an outstanding warrant for failure to pay fine. Trooper Keith York and Gouldsboro Police Department Officer Devon Bohacik assisted with the investigation.
Oct. 31:
Trooper Chris Smith responded in Hancock for a vehicle off the road. The female driver fled from the scene. As a result Trooper Smith later summonsed a 31-year-old Cherryfield woman for failure to report accident by quickest means. Trooper Smith also issued her traffic summonses for failure to maintain control of motor vehicle, inspection, insurance, and failure to stop at stop sign.
Trooper Chris Smith investigated a suspicious incident at a lumber business in Hancock. It was reported that someone used a delivery truck overnight and returned it. As a result the suspect damaged another delivery truck while backing the truck into its parking spot. Additionally the gate blocking off the entrance to the store was damaged as a result of this incident. Investigation continues.
Trooper Greg Roy arrested a 40-year-old Dedham man for violation of condition of release.
Nov. 1:
Trooper Chad Lindsey arrested a 32-year-old man for operating under the influence of alcohol on Route 9 in Wesley.
Trooper Chad Lindsey responded to a crash in Baring. The 19-year-old male operator was summonsed for illegal transportation of alcohol by a minor, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Trooper Andrew Foss and Calais Police Department assisted.
Trooper Michael Southard summonsed an 18-year-old woman in Orland for operating without a license after she was involved in a crash.
Trooper Michael Southard and Trooper Chris Smith responded to a fight complaint in Dedham where the party was asked to leave the residence after a verbal argument. Hancock Sheriff's Office assisted.
Trooper Bryan Creamer investigated a report of a theft at building supply store in Blue Hill. The manager reported that someone had loaded some materials from the yard and left without paying for them. The employee that had helped the customer had taken down the license plate number because he had never seen him before. The plate number came back to a man of Penobscot. The man was located and said that he had gone into the store and they had forgotten to charge him for those materials. The store was satisfied with not pursuing charges after he returned and paid for the materials.
Trooper Jason Fowler responded to a theft complaint in East Machias where diesel fuel was siphoned out of a John Deere tractor. Investigation continues.
Nov. 3:
Trooper Michael Southard and Trooper Chris Smith responded to a fight complaint in Verona where a 44-year-old man was arrested for criminal mischief, assault and disorderly conduct.
Nov. 4:
Trooper Miles Carpenter arrested a 25-year-old man in Jonesboro for operating under the influence of alcohol, illegal attachments of plates and operating after suspension. A 25-year-old male passenger was also arrested for violation of conditional release for being in possession of alcohol and possession of a usable amount of marijuana. Sergeant Jeffrey Ingemi, Trooper Andrew Foss and Washington Sheriff's Office assisted.
Trooper Chad Lindsey handled a theft complaint in Big Lake Township where a boat motor and pressure washer were reported stolen from a shed. Investigation continues.
Trooper Michael Southard responded to a complaint that a 46-year-old male was reported to have assaulted a woman in Dedham. It was also reported that Garland was out of control and fired a weapon in a reckless manner. Lieutenant Roderick Charette, Sergeant Jeffrey Ingemi, Trooper Daniel Ryan, Trooper Darren Vittum, Trooper Andrew Foss and Trooper Keith Barton also responded along with Hancock Sheriff's Office, Ellsworth Police Department, Holden Police Department, Maine State Police Tactical Team and Crisis Negotiation Team. The man did come out of the residence and was arrested for assault and reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon. Dedham Fire Department and Brewer Rescue also assisted.
Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a criminal mischief complaint in Blue Hill where a sign was reported damaged. Investigation continues.
Trooper Andrew Foss responded to a burglary complaint in Lubec where copper was stolen from a vacant residence. Investigation continues.
Trooper Andrew Foss and Trooper Chad Lindsey arrested a 19-year-old man in Cooper for Calais Police Department for violation of a protection order.
