Troop J Weekly Report - Oct. 01, 2012
This week Troop J responded to 168 calls for service. The following are noteworthy complaints:
Sept. 24:
Trooper Keith York and Trooper Andrew Foss responded to a theft complaint in Hancock where a building was reported stolen. This was determined to be unfounded and the building was still at the location it was supposed to be.
Trooper Reid Bond responded to a burglary complaint in Cherryfield. A 32" Sony television, replica musket, and approximately thirty items of jewelry where reported stolen. Investigation continues regarding this incident.
Trooper Reid Bond responded to a motor vehicle crash on Route-1 in Columbia Falls. A 1993 Ford F-150 was traveling eastbound when it crossed into the westbound lane and struck a 2010 Subaru Impreza. The passengers in the Subaru were transported to local hospitals and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The passenger of the F-150 was air lifted to Eastern Maine Medical Center. The following day the passenger was reportedly in stable condition. This crash remains under investigation.
Sept. 25:
Trooper Staci Carpenter investigated a threatening complaint in Machiasport. The investigation continues.
Trooper Jason Fowler summonsed a 43-year-old Ellsworth woman for criminal speeding as the result of a traffic stop in Day Block Township on Route 9.
Trooper Jason Fowler assisted US Customs with a log book violation at the port of entry. A 34-year-old woman from Hainesville, NB was summonsed for unlawful possession of Schedule W Drugs.
Sept. 26:
Trooper Jason Fowler responded to a domestic dispute in Danforth. The complaint was determined to be unfounded. No crime had been committed and no further action was taken. Trooper Chad Fuller also assisted at the scene.
Trooper Cliff Peterson received a criminal mischief complaint in Sullivan. It was reported that the soda machine in front of the Sullivan Fire Department had been damaged.
Sept. 28:
Trooper Andrew Foss arrested a 27-year-old man in Marion for operating after suspension.
Trooper Chad Lindsey handled a theft complaint in Wesley where 3 vehicles were reported stolen. This was determined to be unfounded.
Trooper Staci Carpenter received a theft complaint in Meddybemps. It was reported that a chainsaw had been taken.
Trooper Jason Fowler received a criminal mischief complaint in Robbinston. It was reported that someone had cut the locks off the barn door. There did not appear to be anything missing and the residence had not been entered.
Trooper Cliff Peterson summonsed an 18-year-old Hancock woman for negotiating a worthless instrument. She had passed five hundred dollars in checks on a closed account at the Trenton Marketplace and Ellsworth Marketplace.
Trooper Jason Fowler received a criminal mischief complaint in Princeton. It was reported that a mailbox had been smashed sometime during the night.
Trooper Jason Fowler summonsed a 36-year-old Pembroke woman for operating an unregistered motor vehicle as the result of a traffic stop in Robbinston.
Trooper Keith York summonsed a 19-year-old Lubec man for criminal mischief in connection to the property damage to the Lubec School field.
Sept. 29:
Trooper Michael Southard responded to a crash in Hancock. Charges are pending. The Maine Warden Service assisted.
Trooper Barnard responded to an argument between two roommates in Orland. Through the investigation the aggressor decided she would leave the residence and stay at her mother's residence. Trooper Smith, Trooper Creamer and Deputy Sargent also responded to the complaint.
Trooper Keith York responded to a fight in Columbia Falls where a 72-year-old man was arrested for assault.
Sept. 30:
Trooper Daniel Ryan handled a criminal mischief complaint in Castine where a mailbox was reported damaged. Investigation continues.
