Coronavirus Pandemic and Anah Shrine

  Bangor, Maine – There is a critical need for blood due to the Coronavirus Pandemic and Anah Shrine wants to help. This Thursday April 2nd begins a series of blood donation events being held at the Anah Shrine Center at 1404 Broadway in Bangor. From Noon-5 PM on these 4 Thursdays (April 2nd, 9th, 16th & 30th) the American Red Cross will be accepting blood donations. bottle and can drive

The Calais High School Student Council and NHS will be holding a bottle and can drive from 9 – 3 on Saturday, March 14, 2020 as a fundraiser. We will be stationed at Rick’s Cans and Bottles on Boardman Street where interested people may drop off their donation. Students will also be canvassing the town. Please support these worthy service organizations in their efforts!

Spaghetti Dinner and Chinese Auction

The Woodland Jr/Sr High School Grade 8 class is having a Spaghetti Dinner and Chinese Auction on March 7, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. and Woodland Jr/Sr High School gym.  It is $5.00 person.  Doors will open at 4:30 and auction will begin roughly at 6:00.

20th WCCC’s Student Senate Polar Dip

This year marks the 20th Anniversary of WCCC’s  Student Senate Polar Dip and will benefit the Ronald McDonald House of Bangor and Sarah’s House of Maine.   Student Senate has held this event and have raised over $250,000  with 100 percent of all proceeds go directly to both houses.  We are hoping to raise $20,000.00 this year to honor the 20th Anniversary dip will take place on February 28, 2020 at the Pleasant Point Reservation Pier in Perry, Maine.

Stage East and the Magnificent Liars will present Sarah Ruhl’s “Dear Elizabeth” to open the 2020 production season. The play chronicles the friendship between poets Elizabeth Bishop and Robert Lowell over thirty years, and is composed entirely of excerpts from their published letters.
