Student Council, NHS, and JMG have always focused on children who may not have friends/family with whom to celebrate the holidays and exchange gifts.
There is a Santa’s Helper fundraiser on both sides of the border (Great Job to the radio Lions Nick Johnson and Ben Knowles who will be doing their part this weekend!),
the Stuff the Bus campaign, as well as the Rockathon for the AMHC kids.
But, people forget about the elderly, especially those without close family members.
With this in mind, Stu-Co and NHS are asking you to help spread some holiday cheer for these local senior citizens. Please donate small items to put into gift baskets: gift cards to Walmart, Walgreens, local grocery stores, or local diners; word searches, puzzles, books (large print please), gloves, hats, mittens, scarves, lotions, soaps, or anything else you might buy for a grandparent.
We plan on having collection baskets at both the CES and CMHS front office as well as having a donation collection bin at the local basketball games on December 9, 19, and 20th. All donations will be delivered by Santa, Mrs. Claus, stu-co elves, as well as anyone else who would like to join us.
We are hoping to sing Christmas carols as we deliver. Come join the fun!
Please help us make a senior citizen’s holiday brighter and contribute to this cause.
