A problem on the New Brunswick side of the border has cut power to the transmission line feeding 80% of Eastern Maine Electric’s delivery grid. We know that NB Power is trying to find and repair the problem, but we have no estimated power restoration time. Power is out to all Washington County EMEC members, as well as those along the Route 6 corridor in Penobscot County. In Aroostook County, all members from Orient South are without power until the NB problem is resolved.
EMEC line crews are continuing to make repairs to the known damage on this side of the border. We will update this message if we get knew information before power is restored.
