Milbridge couple were arrested for felony theft charges.

*On 12-5-2022 a Milbridge couple were arrested for felony theft charges.

Mr. Steven Furth (32 years old) and his wife Mrs. Ashley Furth (39 years old) were arrested on a traffic stop in Cherryfield as a result of an extensive joint investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office, the Maine State Police, Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.

Felony arrest warrants were issued by the Machias Court late Friday (12-2-2022). The charges are related to a theft of a large sum of money from a family member’s bank account.

Also, as a result, a subsequent search warrant was also issued for the Furth’s residence on the Kansas Road in Milbridge. That search warrant was also executed by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, The Maine State Police, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.

A large amount of evidence, material goods, firearms, firearms ammo and accessories, explosive material, and other goods suspected to be purchased with the stolen money were seized.

The investigation remains active and more charges are pending. Mr. and Mrs. Furth remain in the Washington County Jail at the time of this release. Both subjects have bail set at 50,000$ cash.
