On Sunday, June 19, 2022 at approximately 9:30 p.m.
the Fire Marshal’s Office responded to a fatal fire at a home at 118 Union Street in Calais.
The deceased is believed to be the homeowner 61-year-old Ellen Gibson who lived alone at the residence.
An autopsy will be conducted today , June 21, 2022 at the Office of Chief Medical Examiner in Augusta.
Investigators from the Fire Marshal’s Office returned to the location Monday to process the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
