Mural will go up honoring centennial of women’s suffrage

LEWISTON, Maine (AP) — The Maine twin cities of Lewiston-Auburn are one of six sites to be selected for murals honoring the 100th anniversary of women’s suffrage. The Women’s Suffrage Centennial Commission and the National Endowment for the Arts led the effort to produce murals marking the centennial of the 19th Amendment, which secured women’s right to vote. The program provides $25,000 to each of the nation’s six regional arts organizations. Lewiston-Auburn was selected to represent New England.
