Man sentenced to 38 years for fatal machete attack in Maine

MACHETE KILLING SENTENCING

ALFRED, Maine (AP) — A judge has sentenced a Limington man to 38 years in prison for the machete killing of a neighbor. Prosecutors said Bruce Akers nearly decapitated the victim during a fight stemming from an argument over allegations of stolen alcohol. The victim, Douglas Flint, was reported missing in June 2016 before police searched Akers’ property. His body was found hidden under a pile of rotting deer carcasses and debris. The sentence was imposed Monday in York County Superior Court.
