UMM transitions to remote classes, cancels events amid COVID-19 concerns

Machias, Maine  — In response to concerns related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the University of Maine at Machias will join all University of Maine System campuses in transitioning academic programming to distance modalities and significantly limiting occupancy of residence halls, effective March 23.

As of March 15, UMM’s Merrill Library and Murdock Fitness and Aquatics Center have temporarily limited their hours of operation and restricted facility access to UMS students and employees.

Fitness center memberships will be temporarily suspended and no payments will be processed. Membership deadlines will be extended for the amount of time that they were suspended.

A number of campus events have been cancelled or postponed.
